Spalted Beech Head & Hazel Walking Stick – 98 cm (38.6”)

This distinctive Irish walking stick combines a beautiful spalted beech head with a natural hazel shaft. The contrasting woods work beautifully together, with the unique grain and markings of the spalted beech creating a particularly attractive handle.

The hazel shaft provides a strong yet relatively lightweight construction. At approximately 340 g, the stick is comfortable to carry on longer walks and hikes while still having a reassuring, substantial feel in the hand.

At 98 cm, this is a practical Irish walking stick with plenty of natural character. The combination of spalted beech and hazel makes it an unusual alternative to a traditional Blackthorn Shillelagh while retaining the craftsmanship and natural character associated with Irish stick making.

Make your Shillelagh even more personal by having your chosen name or text burned directly into the shaft. We meet again with our maker, carefully sand down the selected area of your Shillelagh, and then burn in your desired wording for a distinctive, personal finish.
