This Blackthorn Shillelagh features a lovely natural knob head and a shaft with plenty of distinctive Blackthorn knuckles. These natural bumps, formed where the thorns once grew, give the stick plenty of traditional character from top to bottom.
It has a comfortable medium feel in the hand, providing a nice balance between a lighter walking stick and the heavier, chunkier Blackthorn Shillelaghs. The natural knob provides a comfortable grip, while the rustic shaft retains the individual shape and markings of the wood.
Finished with boiled linseed oil, the natural colour, grain and texture of the Blackthorn are brought out while preserving its rustic appearance. At 101 cm, this is a beautiful traditional Irish walking stick with particularly attractive knuckles and plenty of natural character.
